Embark on a transformative journey with a relationship intensive.
Relationship Intensives are tailor-made relationship experiences for motivated couples. They are for couples ready to set aside time to work on their relationship in a highly efficient and enriching way, without the "start-stop" and scheduling hassles of weekly couples therapy sessions.
Relationship Intensives are specially designed for your relationship needs and goals. Imagine replacing months of therapy with two days of deep, focused work that can create breakthroughs, accelerating the healing and growth process. You'll leave with practical tools for effective communication and conflict resolution, ready to continue your journey toward a healthier relationship.
It's time to try something different. With this transformative relationship intensive, you'll step toward a healthier, more fulfilling relationship, experiencing renewed understanding, empathy, and love.
From a relationship intensive, you will learn:
+Immediately effective communication techniques and the neuroscience behind them
+You and your partner's attachment and arousal styles
+How to care for and soothe yourself and each other
+How to "read" your partner
+How to fight fair so that you both win
+How to engage in non-violent and productive communication
+How to become more intimate
+How to move toward secure functioning in your partnership.
A FREE consultation call to determine if a Relationship Intensive is the right fit for you! Please set aside about 45-60 minutes.
1 to 2 day-long sessions (with breaks!), in-person in Anchorage, AK, San Francisco, CA, San Diego, CA, or Eugene, OR.
One 90-minute follow-up therapy session with flexible scheduling and via online video call.
Unlimited email support between the intensive and follow-up session containing relationship exercises to do at home, reading, and relevant materials to keep you on track between your follow-up sessions, if needed.
A FREE relationship binder with all the information, exercises experienced in session, and homework exercises to take with you and use time and time again.
A relationship action plan that includes a written summary of our work together highlighted growth areas for future work with another therapist or with me if you choose to continue therapeutic work after our intensive has wrapped (provided that I have openings in my schedule).
Couples' relationship intensives are for busy and motivated couples looking for immersive and highly efficient therapy. Intensives are individualized experiences that offer the equivalent of six months of therapy in just a few days. Intensives are offered in person in various locations on the West Coast and include full support before, during, and after the weekend.
This option is for those engaged to be married and looking for support to start on the right foot. Pre-marital intensives are customized to your unique relationship needs and are non-faith-based. We will work together to assess for areas that need improvement and answer some of the big questions to ensure there are no surprises when transitioning from your engagement to marriage.
This is for couples who want to set aside time to focus on the relationship, who are ready to look at themselves and get to the root of the issue, and those with scheduling constraints that make the recommended 6-8 months of weekly therapy challenging to commit to.
Intensives are a personalized relationship skills immersion. They are built entirely with you and your relationship concerns in mind, with full attention, time, and space to make a change. Intensives are like therapy, but with a lot more focus on skills building and experiential learning than is possible with the start-stop of a weekly session.
Currently, I offer in-person intensives in Anchorage, AK, San Francisco, CA, Eugene, OR, and San Diego, CA.
One 2 hour follow up included and scheduled at the end of the intensive, and from there, we can determine how many sessions or follow-ups may be needed. You will never be without support! However, many couples find that they require few and far between follow-ups, if any, after the Intensive.
Intensives, like most couples' therapy, are not coverable by insurance.
A typical intensive will look like this, each of the two days:
*Breaks included when needed throughout.
While these are like in-person mini-retreats, you will need to secure your own lodging and meals. I will provide restaurant, accommodation, and sightseeing recommendations, but all will need to be managed by you. I suggest finding a comfortable hotel and treating this like a retreat from everyday life to get the most out of it.
This question makes a lot of sense when considering committing to an intensive. I can honestly say that it tends to be the opposite! Intensives are thought-provoking, transformative, and engaging. My clients find that they are energized by what they are learning about themselves and their relationships and are surprised to find they are not drained or exhausted at all.
